Client instructions before and after care Radiesse treatment
When you undergo a treatment with Radiesse (= injectable), we will do everything we can to make the treatment run as smoothly as possible. In addition, we also need your cooperation! Below are a number of instructions. By following the instructions, the treatment is more comfortable for you, recovery is faster and promotes optimal end results. That is why it is important that you read the instructions below carefully and follow them carefully. You must always be able to show a valid ID so that we can include the BSN number in our administration and carry out an age check.
Before treatment
During the consultation, the doctor asked you about your possible medication use. Using blood thinners right before treatment can be dangerous and may lead to complications. If you are taking such medications, your doctor would like to be aware of this. If desired, these can then be discontinued at least 1 week in advance in consultation with your prescribing doctor (doctor or specialist). The most common blood thinning medications are: Acetyl-salicylic acid (Aspirin, Ascal-38, Ascal-Cardio, Persantin, Plavix, Sintrom, or Marcoumar).
During treatment
Pictures are taken first. If necessary, the area to be treated will be anesthetized. The treatment takes about 20 minutes and you can go home immediately afterwards, unaccompanied.
After treatment
After you have been treated, it is not recommended to exercise the same day. Extreme heat (tanning bed and sauna) and cold are not recommended for 2 weeks. The doctor will tell you whether or not to massage the treated area. Non-mineral makeup is not recommended in the first 12 hours after treatment.
Audit
After 1 — 2 months, a follow-up treatment can take place. Final check-ups take place in consultation with your doctor.
Pain relief
Pain relief is usually not necessary. If you still want to use a pain reliever, you can do so; you can take paracetamol 500 mg, a maximum of 6 tablets per 24 hours.
grooming
For the first 6 weeks, you should protect the treated area well from the sun with a good UV protection factor (SPF 30).
Note
Radiesse stimulates the production of collagen; this production takes time! It can even take up to 6 months before results are visible.
Swelling
After treatment, there may be bruising (bruising) and some swelling. These disappear on their own. You can use cold packs against swelling.
