Client instructions: aftercare, hyaluronic acid treatment

Why this instruction?

When you undergo a treatment with hyaluronic acid (injectable), we will do everything we can to make the treatment run as smoothly as possible. In addition, we also need your cooperation! Below are a number of instructions. By following the instructions, the treatment is more comfortable for you, recovery is faster and promotes optimal end results. That is why it is important that you read the instructions below carefully and follow them carefully.

Before treatment

Pictures are being taken. Any makeup will be removed. If necessary or desirable, the area to be treated is anesthetized with Emla cream (you will have received a prescription from the doctor) or injections. You must always be able to show a valid ID so that we can include the BSN number in our administration and carry out an age check. During the consultation, the doctor asked you about your possible medication use. Using blood thinners right before treatment can be dangerous and lead to complications. If you take such medications, they can be discontinued at least 1 week in advance in consultation with your prescribing doctor (doctor or specialist) if desired. The most common blood thinning medications include: Acetyl-Salicylic Acid (Aspirin, Ascal-38, Ascal-Cardio), Persantin, Plavix, Sintrom, and Marcoumar.

During treatment

The treatment takes about 20 minutes and you can go home immediately afterwards, unaccompanied.

After treatment

Immediately after the treatment, you can resume your usual activities. You may use mineral makeup to conceal the treated area. Sometimes there is swelling and/or a bruise. Especially when treating the lips or the area around the mouth, considerable swelling can occur over 24 hours. You can use cold compresses (cold packs) for swelling and bruising. Several times a day, hold an ice pack wrapped in tissue or gauze against the treated area for a few minutes.

Audit

After 2 - 4 weeks, you can come for a check-up for the evaluation. A follow-up treatment may be planned or take place. The doctor will advise you on further policy. Of course, you can also ask questions at this time.

Pain relief

Pain relief is probably not necessary. If you still want to use a pain reliever, you can do so; you can take paracetamol 500 mg, a maximum of 6 tablets per 24 hours.

grooming

For the first 2 weeks, you should protect the treated area well from the sun with a good UV protection factor (SPF 30).

Work and Sport

You can work immediately after the treatment, but take into account any bruise. Exercising for 24 hours is not recommended because of the possible increase in swelling.

Free intake interview

As a new customer, we would like to invite you for a free and non-binding consultation worth €50. During this appointment, our doctor will provide you with treatment advice.
