Puffiness, dark circles, a tired look?

Everyone gets bags under the eyes, but sometimes they pop up all the time and make you look tired all the time. Tear cavities are more noticeable due to loss of volume. As we get older, this process gradually accelerates, but more frequent tear pits can also be genetic and/or also present from childhood. The reduction in volume causes dark circles, extra shadows and bags under the eyes.

“The older you get, the more volume you lose in your face,” says Dr. Ludy Holst, KNMG cosmetic doctor and owner of the Van Lennep Clinic. “Due to bone resorption, fat loss and ever-thinning skin, your face slips slightly off your skull.” This process does not manifest itself in the same way for everyone. Some notice the loss of volume in the temples, the other with puffiness that even the best night's sleep can't cope with. Tear trough fillers have been developed to address this latter problem.

What are tear-sized fillers?

The tear channel is a kind of deep crease that runs from the inner corner of the eye to below your lower eyelid,” Holst explains. You can remedy this by means of a filler treatment. By using fillers, the shadow under your eyes decreases and gives you a fresh look.

Indications for correction of the tear channel:

— the appearance of dark circles under the eyes;

— the appearance of a “tired look”;

— the appearance of mimic wrinkles in the periorbital zone.

Contraindications:

— a tendency to swell in the periorbital region;

— the presence of pronounced hernias of the lower eyelids;

— recovery period after blepharoplasty (4-6 months);

— inflammatory processes in the periorbital region (keratitis, uveitis, neuritis, diabetic retinopathy, endocrine ophthalmopathy).

Teardrop price

“Comparing prices is often comparing apples to pears,” says Holst. 'A 25-year-old girl will receive a different price than a 65-year-old woman, because older women have lost more volume over time. ' Just to paint a picture: Tear canal filler treatments start at €350. In addition, recommends Dr. Ludy Holst Always check what you are actually buying and which services are included in the price. The quality of providers can vary widely, and cheap can quickly become expensive for inexperienced practitioners.
