Combining different Skincare brands? Or rather not?

You'd think it's just a marketing pitch. But is it really better if all your skin care products, from your facial cleanser to your day and night cream and serums, are from the same brand?

Skincare products from a skin improvement line from one and the same brand usually do not bite each other. In fact, they are often developed and coordinated to support and reinforce each other's work.

Especially in the case of CosmeCeuceuticals, brands with products that contain active substances with a clinically proven effect on the skin. Both Environ, ZO Skin Health, and SkinCeutics fall under CosmeCeutics, also known as professional skin improvement brands.

So it's obvious to source all your products from one brand. This also prevents an overload of active substances, such as acids and retinol or vitamin A.

40% of our customers use the entire line of the same brand

In practice, we also see customers who combine our lines. These are the people who have been familiar with professional skin improvement for a long time and also do peels in our salon. Surely you always have ZO Skin Health's favorite Exfoliating Cleanser, Environ's Pre-Cleansing Oil, or you're attached to a specific night cream, like SkinCeutics' A.G.E. Interrupter.

Are you starting professional skin improvement for the first time? Then we often recommend that you first format the “other line” so that you can start with one and the same line. This way, we can get a good idea of the improvement and tolerance of your skin, but also adjust it if the doses appear to be too low or too high.

How often does it happen that different products don't go together?

In general, things are going well, but in the worst case, you will get mild skin irritation such as itching, peeling, or red spots. You usually find out soon enough. Such irritations disappear automatically when you use the product to a lesser extent, but with a mix, it is sometimes more difficult to find the product that your skin is even less tolerant to.

You often think it's the 'acids', because they feel less comfortable when you apply them, but it's often the product that contains Retinol that your skin still has to get used to.

So if you want to combine, always ask for our advice first, or schedule a check-up with our skin therapists. This way, we can put together the right combination for your specific skin needs.
