Caring was instilled in me as a child

Guidebook

Caring was instilled in me as a child. My father was a doctor and my mother supported him in his practice. In addition, she trained as a beautician, but did not really work as such. My mother was a beautiful woman who took good care of herself — a real example.

I myself had a very bad rash on my face a number of times when I was young. That was due to an autoimmune reaction. Fortunately, that was ultimately treated well. That piqued my interest in psychodermatoses: if your skin doesn't cooperate, there is a vulnerability behind it, in the soul. I also learned a lot about how different specialists can work.

Energy

When I started studying medicine myself, I was able to talk to my father about it, but he was very scientific. And during my thesis at the department of dermatology, I noticed that I wanted to work in a solution-oriented way rather than problem-driven. Working as a cosmetic doctor therefore gives me a lot of energy. The people who come to me are looking forward to it. They want to move forward. I really like to stand next to someone and see: what can we do? In doing so, you should delve into who you have sitting in your chair. How can you make them happy? Does what you see meet their expectations? And of course, you have to take into account the available budget.

Three generations

In the Frederikstraat, I really feel like a “skin consultation office”. I get three generations over there: the grandmothers, the mothers and their children. When the granddaughter comes in and I see her already beginning sun damage, it is very nice that I can tell you something about how to prevent further damage. I have great products for that. In the Netherlands, people don't realize that you have to rub a child when they play outside. You should think of the skin as a rubber band. When young, she is nice and supple, juicy and firm. But when she is old, she falls apart dehydrated. People don't realize that. On the other hand, they are so flooded with information that they no longer know what to do. I would like to be their coach or guide in this.Ludy
